Lee Health begins building pediatric ASC in Fort Myers, Fla.

Medical Construction & Design reports that construction has begun on a 60,000-square-foot, two-story medical office building (MOB) and ASC in Fort Myers, Fla., for Lee Health.

The facility, which will focus on pediatric care, is located on the campus of Golisano Children’s Hospital and HealthPark Medical Center. Medical Construction & Design reports the building will feature a single main entrance for the MOB and ASC.

The ASC will be on the building’s first floor, along with endoscopy suites and associated support spaces. The second floor will include space for Lee Health’s graduate medical education program, including a lobby, exam rooms, treatment rooms and additional patient care spaces, classrooms and collaborative workspaces. The second floor will also feature a pediatric specialty clinic with its own exam and treatment rooms, reports the outlet.

The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
