Novant Health announced Monday that it received approval from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to build a 20-bed hospital and a freestanding emergency department in Brunswick County. “The new facilities will elevate access to healthcare in North Carolina’s fastest-growing county,” the health system stated.
Novant Health Leland Medical Center will be built in Leland, N.C., and the freestanding emergency department will be built in Carolina Shores, N.C.
The hospital will include its own 24/7 emergency department, imaging services, 10 observation beds and five procedure rooms.
Novant Health will also open an ASC in the Leland area this year.
