UCLA details plans for new UCLA Health South Bay building, including ASC

According to a report in The Daily Bruin, the UC Board of Regents yesterday approved a $298.2 million budget Wednesday to convert an El Segundo, Calif., office building into a UCLA Health complex called UCLA Health South Bay.

According to the campus newspaper, the renovated building will contain a Sports Medicine Institute, an ASC, physical therapy centers, and community fill and specialty pharmacies. It will also become the new site for the UCLA Clinical Microbiology Laboratory currently in Brentwood.

Construction is set to begin in January 2027, with an anticipated completion date of June 2028.

The paper reports that, according to UCLA, the new “all-electric” facility will “improve access to orthopedic services in an outpatient setting, relieving demand at UCLA’s Santa Monica and Ronald Reagan Medical Centers.”
