United Digestive (UD), a physician practice management company that supports gastrointestinal providers and partner practices throughout the Southeast, is in the process of “driving significant organic growth,” including strategic investments in new clinics and endoscopy centers, advanced practice provider recruitment and “implementation of new ancillaries to expand its comprehensive care model.” One of its goals is to improve patient access to preventive and specialized GI care while reducing wait times.
Last month, UD opened West Florida Surgical Suites in Tampa, which includes three endoscopy procedure rooms. UD repurposed a former non-GI outpatient facility into the dedicated gastrointestinal endoscopy center. Now UD plans to open a newly constructed three-room ASC in Watkinsville, Ga., this year.
UD has also opened or expanded four clinic locations in Georgia, and is constructing a fifth.
Last year, UD recruited 11 new gastroenterologists, one pathologist, and 12 advanced practice providers. Seven gastroenterologists, 16 advanced practice providers and one pathologist are set to begin at UD in 2026. It’s also expanding infusion services to five new Florida locations, opened a pharmacy in February, and launched a tech-enabled platform to help manage chronic GI conditions. It has also “significantly increased” the number of active studies and principal investigators it supports.
“We are laser focused on building a world-class GI platform – whether through new clinics, ASC development, ancillary services, or recruiting outstanding clinicians,” said UD CEO Neal C. Patel, MD.
UD currently supports 67 clinics, 25 ASCs, and approximately 270 providers in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
