SGMC Health has acquired Valdosta Foot & Ankle Clinic in South Georgia, and will rename the practice, which includes an Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC)-accredited ASC, as SGMC Podiatry. The practice will continue to be run by Michael Wallace, DPM, and Devin Daugherty, DPM.
SGMC Health states that the acquisition will enable it to expand patient access to specialized foot and ankle care in South Georgia. Existing patients of Valdosta Foot & Ankle Clinic “will experience a seamless transition, with no interruption in care,” and “experienced staff” will be retained, states SGMC Heath. It adds that the existing practice will benefit “from enhanced access to SGMC Health’s broader system of specialty services, advanced technology, and coordinated care pathways.”
Dr. Wallace stated that joining SGMC Health will allow the practice to build on its mission to provide superior patient care “with greater access to resources and collaboration across specialties.”
