Baptist Health held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday to welcome South Arkansas Regional Hospital in El Dorado, Ark., into its system after officially assuming the hospital’s operations the day before.
The 151-bed hospital has been renamed Baptist Health Medical Center-El Dorado, becoming the 13th hospital in the Baptist Health system. “The hospital continues to offer extensive inpatient and outpatient care, specializing in cardiology, orthopedics, obstetrics and emergency services with a dedicated team of approximately 400 staff members,” stated the health system.
The acquisition process was announced in March, in part to “ensure operational stability and a seamless experience for patients and caregivers,” stated Baptist Health, which describes itself as “Arkansas’ most comprehensive health care organization.”
