West Virginia outpatient surgical facility to close

According to local media reports, Vandalia Health’s CAMC Memorial Hospital of Charleston, W.Va., has confirmed that it is closing its outpatient SurgiCare facility on Aug 28.

CAMC shared this statement with WCHS-TV: “The decision was made to close SurgiCare based on overall utilization of the operating rooms with the goal to maximize efficiency and scale while reducing duplication. The patients will continue to receive high-quality care at other facility operating rooms. Staff plan to continue procedures inside the outpatient surgery center at CAMC General Hospital, the main operating rooms at CAMC Memorial Hospital and CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital.”

WOWK-TV reports that the decision will shut down two operating rooms.
