Today begins three full days of sessions at Periop Leader Week built around five tracks that will run simultaneously: Leadership & Workforce; Business Management; Quality, Safety & Regulatory Readiness; Operational Efficiency & Technology; and ASC & Outpatient.

Attending community members don’t need to stick with any particular track; they’re free (and encouraged) to mix and match to suit their roles and their interests. And that’s the point; we want to build bridges among clinical, business and operational leaders here, and we hope our content engenders that cross-pollination. Here are the sessions on tap today in each track:

Leadership & Workforce

  • Financial acumen for nurse leaders: Key strategies for creating a successful business case for OR capital projects
  • Build your bench: Strategies and insights to develop your perioperative leadership pipeline
  • Better than we found it: Reimagining nursing culture, leadership and our profession

Business Management

  • The end of the CMS Inpatient-Only List: An open roundtable discussion
  • Are you getting maximum value out of your surgical robot investment? An interactive panel discussion
  • 'What would you say you DO here?' The changing role of the perioperative business leader to hospital operations

Operational Efficiency & Technology

  • Integrating technology without negatively impacting perioperative workflows: An interactive panel discussion
  • The numbers behind the narrative: How surgical volume growth can improve patient safety: An interactive panel discussion
  • The art of storytelling and metrics that matter

Quality, Safety & Regulatory Readiness

  • The IFU Odyssey: Compliance, risk, and the future of safer instructions
  • Who, who are you? Why knowing the patient isn’t enough: A discussion about avoiding errors in patient identification
  • Cybersecurity in the OR: Safeguarding patient safety and surgical workflow

ASC & Outpatient

  • Leading AI safely: AAAHC’s practical governance framework for perioperative leaders
  • How to open a cardiac ASC
  • Assessing the risks, rewards and requirements of bringing high-acuity cases to the ASC

If you’re here, we hope you experience a great day of education and connection through these sessions. For those who aren’t here, we hope to see you in Indianapolis next year…and maybe you can present or lead a discussion of your own! I’m always open to your ideas! Contact me at jpaone@accessintel.com and let’s talk about them!
