Lee Health has entered into a definitive agreement to establish a “long-term partnership” with independent cardiology practice Florida Heart Associates by acquiring it.
According to Lee Health, the organizations already have a “decades-long collaborative relationship.” It states that “with this acquisition, Lee Health sustains its leadership as the largest and most comprehensive cardiology program in Southwest Florida.”
Florida Heart Associates now joins the Lee Health Heart Institute as a subsidiary. It will “continue forward with its physician-led clinical and operational leadership,” states Lee Health, which adds that “all current employees will remain in place to continue serving patients.”
Florida Heart Associates’ Fort Myers and Cape Coral offices, as well as its ASC, will “transition” to Lee Health facilities, with its 16 cardiologists continuing to oversee day-to-day operations of the practice and the ASC.
