According to local newspaper The Herald, Novant Health will build a medical campus on the site of a failed plan to build a headquarters and practice facility for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers.

Plans call for the 25-acre campus in Rock Hill, S.C., about 25 miles south of Charlotte, N.C., to host the Novant project, whose construction is estimated at more than $300 million. According to the city of Rock Hill, which owns the site, the project will bring “the equivalent of 255 full-time jobs,” reports The Herald, which adds that the sale of the site still involves a due diligence period by Novant Health prior to closing.

Novant also announced the placement of the final structural steel beam atop its future hospital in Greenville, S.C., expected to open in late 2027.
