St. Luke’s opens 355,000-square-foot Heart Hospital in Pennsylvania

St. Luke’s University Health Network has opened St. Luke’s Heart Hospital on its St. Luke’s Anderson Campus in Easton, Pa.

Construction began in 2024 on the five-story, approximately 355,000-square-foot, $252 million facility—the “largest construction project in St. Luke’s more than 150-year history, both in dollar figure and square footage,” according to the health system.

Some interesting facts about the new hospital:

  • The hospital includes four dedicated heart ORs, one hybrid OR, 10 advanced interventional suites for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology and interventional radiology, and a specially designed cardiac ICU that provides high-acuity heart patients advanced specialized care.
  • The central corridor on each of the upper floors stretches more than 100 yards.
  • The Heart Hospital’s 140 beds nearly double the Anderson Campus’ inpatient capacity.

St. Luke’s has built five full-service acute care hospitals in recent years, a total it claims is “more than any other health system in Pennsylvania.”

St. Luke’s University Health Network employs 24,000 people, operates 15 campuses and more than 350 outpatient sites, and describes itself as “the preeminent teaching hospital in central-eastern Pennsylvania.”
