Once the day’s education sessions wrapped up on day one of Periop Leader Week, the Periop Networking and Innovation Hall opened. The energy on display at the day’s sessions seamlessly translated into the vibrant setting of the hall, which was buzzing with perioperative leaders visiting exhibitors, viewing posters from their peers, attending more educational sessions, and engaging in fun activities.
If perioperative leaders weren’t visiting with the adoptable dogs at the Paws and Relax booth (a very popular spot), receiving a tension-relieving neck massage, or getting caffeinated with specialty brews, they were mingling with industry leaders in immersive exhibits that provided hands-on learning. A panel discussion that closed the day by examining how veterans with perioperative experience can enhance civilian ORs brought remarks like, “We’ve been to a lot of conferences but this topic has never been part of the programming, and I am so glad to see it.”
Being able to tap into products and clinical solutions, along with making more valuable and engaging connections and enjoying some refreshing beverages during our Welcome Reception, brought the day full circle—barking and all.
