AMSURG, an operator of more than 250 ASCs nationwide that was acquired by health system Ascension in June, continues to expand its network of surgery centers. This week, it acquired Capital Surgery Center of Baton Rouge, La.
Capital Surgery Center, which focuses on specialized pain management and orthopedic procedures, is an 8,250-square-foot facility with two operating rooms that are used by 10 partner physicians.
The transaction gives AMSURG its second facility in the Louisiana capital city along with Louisiana Endoscopy Center, and eighth overall in the state.
