DISC Surgery Center at Carlsbad and Sharp HealthCare ("Sharp") have announced a strategic alliance which will find the ASC co-branded as Sharp DISC Surgery Center Carlsbad. This partnership, which builds upon DISC’s previous collaboration with what is now Sharp Tri-City Medical Center, is expected to “further expand North County San Diego's access to advanced outpatient spine and musculoskeletal care,” according to the partners.
Sharp is now a strategic equity partner in the ASC, “combining strengths with DISC to optimize the use of advanced technology and appropriate sites of care, ensuring that patients receive the best care in the right setting.” The two organizations will continue work on “streamlining the entire patient journey,” integrating services such as diagnostics, imaging, cardiac clearances, pre- and post-operative care, and rehabilitation.
Sharp-affiliated physicians now have access to the North County San Diego-based ASC, where advanced same-day procedures such as microdiscectomies, artificial disc replacement, endoscopic spine surgery, minimally invasive spinal fusion, knee, hip and shoulder arthroscopy and total joint replacement are performed.
